One night I decided to view a rather lame movie in its entirety and I have to admit, I slightly enjoyed it. Okay fine, I was into it. But that's only because I'm a weird freak who's into it's-the-end-of-the-world type of movies, regardless of the actual filmmaking quality of the movie. Have you heard of Legion? Me neither, but it apparently briefly played in movie theaters for a while in early 2010. Basically, the movie is about a disinterested God who has had enough of humankind and thus sends his army of angels, led by the Archangel Michael, to exterminate mankind. The plot revolves around a group of strangers in a diner in the desert. In that diner, a woman is pregnant with a child that supposedly is the only hope for restoring humanity. When God gave orders to kill that unborn child, Angel Michael disobeys the All Mighty God and goes back on Earth to protect that said baby. To summarize, shitload of things happen where zombie-like humans are possessed by angels and are trying to kill the baby. The movie has so many plot holes, it feels like you're watching 1h30 of swizz cheese. Nothing is explained and nothing makes sense, but somehow I can't say that I didn't enjoy it. This whole idea of apocalypse and human extermination fascinates me and equally scares the shit out of me also. Not that I want to experience it on hands, but I would wonder how far long I would be able to survive...
This brings me to a whole other topic, which is no-nonsense, basically reality. Chile was hit by 8.8 magnitude earthquake during the weekend and to put in perspective, Haiti ain't got nothin' on Chile at this time. 700 known deaths have been reported while a flabbergasting two million were reported to be wounded and lost. Massive tsunamis are being predicted and would hit the pacific coast, mainly Hawaii, so they say. This to me is frightening, especially coming after a severe earthquake in Haiti not too long ago. It's like what's next? Really, what's next? I don't believe this is the work of any angry faithless God, but I can believe that things will be going down in a near future. At this rate, it's only a matter of time the north will get something real bad, real soon. Cross your fingers this ain't so. Whereever you are Michael, help us.
P.S. If you want to watch a ridiculous, on the verge of what-the-fuck-my-eyes-just-witnessed movie, take a look at The Box starring Cameron Diaz. You won't be disappointed. (The Box? really? Didn't someone thought it has a little bit of sexual connotation to it? You might as well just title it The Vagina)
